In this letter, a statistical method for testing-progress control is proposed, which is based on a delayed S-shaped software reliability growth model formulated by a nonhomogeneous Poisson process. Introducing an average instantaneous fault detection rate, the paper develops a control chart which evaluates the testing-progress with its control limits calculated by a regression analysis.
